Tentang Case Study

Hola,

Dalam postingan sebelumnya, saya menuliskan sedikit tentang jenis thesis yang bisa diambil di Binus Business School. Kali ini saya akan menuliskan sedikit lebih detail (ingat : s.e.d.i.k.i.t) mengenai case study, terutama karena saya memutuskan untuk mengambil thesis jenis ini. Catatan ini diambil dari presentasi yang telah dijabarkan oleh pembimbing saya, Mr. Robert.

Apa definisi case study ?

A Case typically is a record of a business issue which actually has been faced bu business executives, together with surrounding facts, opinions, and prejudices upon which executive decisions had to depend. These real and particularized cases are presented to students for considered analysis, open discussion, and final decision as to the type of action which should be taken. (Charles I.Gragg. in Leenders & Erskine, 1989

"A case study (or a case) is a description of a situation, or an account of a sequence of events, which raises issues for discussion and'or problems for analysis and solution."

Pembimbing saya menganalogikan case study sebagai kegiatan memotret suatu kejadian di masa lalu dan mencetak gambarnya dengan kacamata teori / ilmu pengetahuan.

Siapakah pelaku case study ?
Bila digambarkan dengan diagram venn, para aktor dalam case study saling beririsan di tengahnya, mereka adalah :
1. Supervisor : supervice thesis process
2. Company : sharing experience
3. Student : connecting concept & practices
